Kaiser Permanente – Pasadena, CA

·        March, 2003 –

o       Developed new, robust IBNR model for company wide deployment.

o       Responsible for pricing of individual health insurance portfolio.

o       Responsible for pricing products in the community benefits portfolio including Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Access for infants and mothers (AIM), KP Kids, MRMIP and STEPS.

o       Negotiated reimbursement rates with state of California authorities including mental health contract in Napa/Solano County. AIM case rates, etc.

o       Used risk assessing/risk adjusting model in small group renewal pricing.

o       Developed process for age-off process where dependents that were aging off their parents’ contract were assessed to determine if they should be express enrolled into an individual policy.

o       Developed study for examining costs of diseases in conjunction with using a predictive risk modeler to analyze individuals who misrepresent themselves on their application.
